JITTERBLOCK: AN INTERACTIVE SOUND ART INSTALLATION

Jitterblock is an interactive sound installation designed for the city of Long Beach bi-annual Soundwalk art exhibition.  The project employs Arduino, Max/MSP, IR sensing, and small servo motors to create an interactive percussion instrument for multiple participants.  The motors spin at varying speeds, tapping the glass according to multiple user distance inputs.  The sound is captured by contact micrphones, mixed and replayed simultaneously at various rates and pitch by the artist resulting in a participary sound experience.
